Polyurethane Disperions

The general properties of polyurethane dispersions compared to other dispersions like acrylic, polyester emulsion and synthetic rubber latex are as follows:

HYDRAN

Our HYDRAN products are aqueous dispersions of ionic (anionic / cationic) fine particle polyurethanes stabilized by built-in ionic centres, free of organic solvents and emulsifiers/ without external emulsifiers. They can be used in combination with cross linker, wetting agent and other additives. There are several different Hydran series distinguished by polymer design and application properties.
The main products for coating and adhesives applications are our HW-, AP- and WLS-, series. These products adhere well to most materials, forming excellent protective layers. While these are based on anionic polyurethanes the recently developed CP products are fine particle cationic polyurethanes dispersion with a high solid content. These are free from solvents and emulsifiers. CP series was developed for substrates like steel, wood, paper or plastic.

APPLICATIONS:

• Paints: high gloss, good adhesion, forming elasticity(AP- and WLS- Series)
• Metal surface finishing: alkali resistance, anti corrosion (HW- and CP-Series)
• Primer coating for films and synthetic paper: easy adhesion promoter and excellent elasticity, flexibility and toughness (AP- and HW- Series)
• Top or back coating for paper and films: stain-proof, water and abrasion resistance, anti-scratchiness, anti-tackiness (AP- and HW- Series)
• Natural leather treatment: excellent hand feeling as base or mid layer coating; high flexibility, waterproof, hydrolysis resistance, high durability for top layer finishing (WLS- Series)
• Medical tape: excellent moisture permeability (WLS- Series)
• Furniture housing (wet and dry lamination for vacuum forming, edge wrapping, PVC overlay, etc.): excellent bonding strength, high heat resistance, heat activation, high creep resistance (HW- and ADS- Series)
• Paper impregnation for filters: good water and heat resistance (AP- and HW- Series)
• Damping coating for automotive applications: noise reduction by excellent absorption of vibration (DC-118)

FEATURES:

Special features of AP-Series/ HW- Series:

• Very good surface properties: clarity, hardness and anti-blocking property
• Excellent fastness to light, heat and water

Special features of WLS-Series:

• High durability to heat
• Excellent adhesion for several substrates, e.g. EPDM, ABS, PC, Nylon, glass
• Excellent moisture permeability

Special features of CP-Series:

• High mechanical strength
• Excellent adhesion property for PET film, aluminium, PC/ Polycarbonate, ABS, 6-Nylon
• Excellent printability for inkjet printing
• Excellent water resistance as ink fixing agent
• Good surface properties: transparent, anti-blocking
• High durability vs. heat, water, solvent, acid, …

VONDIC

VONDIC is a non-ionic waterborne polyurethane resin containing external emulsifiers.

FEATURES:

• NPE free
• Good compatibility
• High application efficiency
• Good handling (less fuzz)
• High mechanical strength
• Heat discoloration resistance
• Thermal decomposition resistance
• Excellent chemical stability and compatibility
• Excellent affinity with unsaturated polyester resin or epoxy resin

APPLICATIONS:

• Glass fibre sizing agent
• Carbon fibre sizing agent
• Textile finishing and impregnation

PATELACOL

Our PATELACOL products are formulated polyurethane dispersions, specially designed for ink jet applications. Here we divide into IJ and RSI series products.
PATELACOL IJ- Series is waterborne polyurethane based coating material for ink jet media. The applications are mainly paper, film and textile.

FEATURES:

• Excellent printability for both dye and pigment ink
• Glossy or matte coated surface
• Good water and light resistance on printed material

PATELACOL RSI- Series is a polyurethane dispersion especially formulated for solvent ink jet media and substrates like plastic films and paper.

FEATURES:

• Excellent printability for solvent-based jet ink system
• Glossy or matteSuitable for pigment or dye ink
