Yellowing problem in Bonding layer
|
It is recently known that the Bonding layer of DVD-9 (Al/AgX) has a yellowing problem by aging under room light or sunlight.
The reason has not been ascertained yet, but the problem is probably caused by Ag or AgX, because it is seen in DVD-9 (Al/AgX) productions only.
Silver is known as active chemical and may be activated by room or sun light and reacts in some way with the bonding adhesive.

SD-694 and SD-698 are designed to prevent Silver activities and the yellowing problem.
These disks were exposed to sunlight for one week. The disk on the right is bonded with a conventional adhesive and clearly shows the Yellowing problem. The disk on the left, bonded with our SD-698, is clear.
